The GGF has been investing in reducing energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and resource use – with over EUR 1 billion in green finance provided to over 40,000 final recipients. This work contributes to 7 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and supports responsible growth across 19 target markets.
The GGF believes that in order to solve the climate crisis there needs to be collaboration, meaning bringing in partners who have their feet on the ground and in the ecosystem, to provide the right expertise and opportunities for these next generations of green ventures to scale their impact. Setup with this vision in mind, Clim@ Scaler will support and scale innovative green and circular economy ventures along side several partners.
The Green for Growth Fund (GGF) is an impact investment fund that mitigates climate change and promotes sustainable economic growth, primarily by investing in measures that reduce energy consumption, resource use and CO2 emissions. The fund does so by channelling dedicated financing to businesses and households through local financial institutions, and by directly financing eligible projects. The GGF operates in 19 markets across Southeast Europe, including Turkey, the European Eastern Neighbourhood Region, and the Middle East and North Africa.
Complementing the fund’s investments is the GGF Technical Assistance Facility, which raises awareness on the importance of energy and resource efficiency and renewable energy. The TA Facility helps to develop the capacity of the GGF’s partners, as well as the market in general, to successfully deliver green finance and increase its demand.
